Hospice with Heart has been providing quality end of life care services to Southwestern Iowa residents for the past three years. They are proud to announce their plans to add a hospice house to that list of services. The hospice house is designed to help patients facing a life limiting illness who have no care-giver, have no home, have uncontrollable symptoms that cannot be cared for by family members or friends, do not want to go to a nursing home, do not want to die in their own home, or need respite care.

Beginning November 1, 2007, Hospice with Heart is undertaking an ambitious campaign to raise $500,000 to open this area’s first hospice house. The hospice house facility will include eight private patient rooms and many other amenities of “home” for the patient and their

families. The house will not only offer environmental comfort at end of life but will offer the specialized care of the Hospice with Heart staff 24 hours a day. Hospice with Heart plans on opening the doors of their hospice house located at 357 Indian Hills Drive, Glenwood, Iowa in April, 2008.

Hospice with Heart is looking to Southwestern Iowa to help provide the resources required to open the hospice house doors. A donation to the hospice house will ensure that people with a life limiting illness will have a choice on how to spend their last days.
