Hospice with Heart encourages the recognition and participation in the National Hospice and Palliative Organization's "Wear a White Ribbon to Raise Awareness of Advanced Care Planning" as part of the "It's About How You LIVE" program.

This campaign is a reminder to all of us of the Fifth Anniversary of Terri Schiavo's Death on March 31 and the public/legal battle between her husband and her parents as to who had the authority to determine whether she wanted artificial means to prolong her life.

This is a time for all of us to recognize the need to both document our wishes by completing an advanced directive, and talking with our loved ones about our care decisions BEFORE a medical crises occurs.

Hospice with Heart will hold an Informational Event Session on Friday, April 16, 2010 each hour beginning at 8:30 A.M. with the last session starting at 4:30 P.M. regarding Advanced Care Planning.
