Hospice with Heart would like to say THANK YOU to ALL GRANT FUNDERS! It is through the generosity of Foundations and Charitable Trust that Hospice with Heart has been able to provide area residents with the following specialized services:

  • A Hospice House, with many of the furnishings at the hospice house provided from private donors and through receipt of grants.

  • With some technological capabilities for our organization.

  • With funding for our Care Scholarship Program for those patients who fall through the cracks as they are under-insured or have no insurance and unable to pay for care at the hospice house as we turn no none away for lack of funds.

  • For our Pet Peace of Mind Program (PPOM) begun with a grant from the Banfield Charitable Trust which provides for patient's pet care, grooming needs, food, and basic veterinary care such as, spaying and neutering of patient's pets if needed as well as permanent placement in a new home at the appropriate time for the patient and his/her beloved pet.

  • For our Pet Therapy Certification Program for our Pet Therapy Volunteer Animals.

  • For Grief books and journals for anyone in the community who has suffered a loss in the past year and signs up for our "Understanding Your Grief", a grief seminar comprised of 10 weeks of grief counseling sessions for groups of 10 to 12 family members and/or friends who have experienced loss in the past year. This is a joint course offered free of charge to the community by Hospice with Heart's Master Social Worker, Greg Kuipers and Hospice of Southwest Iowa's Chaplain, Linda Schafer.

Please Note: We often receive grants that are Challenge Grants which require us to secure other grant funding for the remaining cost of the project funded. We are very grateful to those Foundations, Charitable Trust, Civic Groups, and/or Private Donors that assist us in meeting the requirements of challenge grants so that we are able to purchase the items needed to assist us in providing quality of care to our patients and their families.

Please accept our heartfelt appreciation and thank you for your support; YOU make a difference for many community members and their families in their final end-of-life care and journey. If you wish to assist us in any way , please submit donations online or mail to our office at, Hospice with Heart, 300 West Broadway, Suite 114, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.
